Today, I’ll share a few safe and effective solutions to fix this.
1. Remove the Double-Sided Protective Film
This is the most common culprit. When a high-quality Custom anime acrylic standee leaves the factory, it usually has protective films on both the front and back. Leaving them on invisibly increases the thickness of the acrylic standee, preventing it from fitting into the base. If the film sits too tight against the edges and is hard to peel, try sticking a piece of clear tape to the edge of the standee and using its stickiness to help peel the film off both sides.
2. Clean the Base Slot
Inspect the inside of the base’s slot to see if any leftover acrylic scrap from the laser cutting process of manufacturing Custom acrylic standees is stuck inside. If there is, find an object slightly thinner than the slot but hard enough to push the scrap out completely.
3. Light Sanding (For slightly oversized inserts
If you’ve confirmed that the protective films are completely removed and the slot is clean, and it’s just a tiny bit too big for your acrylic standee to fit, you can use high-grit wet/dry sandpaper to gently sand the sides of the standee’s bottom insert. When handling your beloved Custom anime acrylic standee, it’s recommended to sand a little and test the fit repeatedly until the resistance feels just right.
4.Contact Customer Service For severe size discrepancies
Especially for batch-produced Custom acrylic standees, if the size difference is too large and it absolutely won’t go in, it’s a severe manufacturing defect. Please do not force it in or blindly use tools to widen the hole. The material of a standard acrylic standee is brittle, and excessive pressure can easily crack the board or create jagged edges, completely ruining it.
